Member of Parliament for Mion constituency, Musah Abdul-Aziz Ayaba has urged members of the new patriotic party to avoid intraparty feud in the region to be able to make sure the New Patriotic Party (NPP) win the presidential elections in 2024.
He made this appeal during a TESCON handing over ceremony at the Tamale Technical University in the Northern Region.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr Abdul-Aziz Ayaba called on members of the party in the region to avoid resentment, pettiness and greed as these habits would inhibit the NPP’s aspiration of ‘breaking the 8’.
“The kind of Politics we do in this region is very disheartening, it is time we put an end to fighting one another, we shouldn’t allow our differences to divide us especially because we belong to one political party. It is the desire of the New Patriotic Party to change the chronology of a political party staying in power for eight years, we are here to put an end to this sequence.
"As the president rightly said, the NPP presidential candidate is going to win the 2024 elections. Our vision now should be to do whatever that is necessary to make that victory forthcoming and fighting one another will impede this vision."
He further encouraged the newly elected executives to work earnestly in unifying all members of TESCON and also adapt mechanisms that will foster the growth of the group on campus.
“It is only in politics you need every point of call to get what you want, unlike other enterprises where an individual can do whatever he or she wants. I entreat you all to work in unity and device ways of mobilising more people to join TESCON”.
The handing over ceremony was held to induct new executives of the TESCON branch of Tamale Technical University in the northern region as part of efforts to make the party known to members of the institute.
