The Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia on Friday, September 10, donated 1,100 bags of cement and an amount of ₵21,000 to the leadership of the Asokore Zongo community.
The donation was made in fulfilment of the Vice President's promise some weeks ago when he attended the final funeral rites of Hajia Zeinabu Sallow's late mother.
Presenting the items on behalf of Dr. Bawumia, the Ashanti Regional Minister, Simon Osei-Mensah and the Ashanti Regional Treasurer for the governing NPP, Hajia Zeinabu Sallow said the items and the money were to support the construction of the Asokore Zongo Central Mosque.

Also present for the presentation were the Member of Parliament for Effiduase Asokore Constituency, Nana Ayew Afriyie, the DCE, Mary Boatemaa Marfo, Regional Chairman, Osei Adiyiah, constituency executives and many other residents of the community.

The traditional chiefs, zongo chiefs, imams and residents of the area who were present received the donation with excitement and prayed for the Vice President.

Another prayer was also said for the Regional Minister, Hajia Zeinabu and everyone who contributed to the fulfilment of the promise.
