A suspect believed to be the aide of popular pastor, Rev Owusu Bempah has been arrested by Police.
Thirty-year-old Bright Berchie, who was initially declared wanted has been charged with offences of threats of death, offensive conduct and the possession of a firearm without lawful authority.
In a press release dated September, 28 signed by the Director of Public Affairs Supt Alexander Kwaku Obeng, the Police revealed that “the suspect was seen in a widely circulated video, brandishing a weapon and issuing threats of death to Police officers and other persons.”
Additionally, the Police retrieved a weapon from the suspect which they stated will aid in further investigations.
The security agency also noted that the suspect will soon be arraigned before court.

This comes some weeks after Rev. Owusu Bempah and three others were arrested by the Police for issuing threats, brandishing weapons and attacking Police officers.
Rev Owusu Bampah was arrested after he allegedly threatened to kill Patricia Oduro Koranteng, aka Nana Agradaa.
The popular pastor and the other accused persons were jointly charged with offensive conduct to the breaches of peace. Additionally, Owusu Bempah is facing a charge of the threat of death.
Boateng, Ohene, Ofori, and Agyekum have been variously charged with assault on public officers and threat of death.
Rev. Owusu Bempah was granted bail in the sum of GHS200,000 with two sureties by an Accra High Court.
Four other persons believed to be members of his church have also been admitted to bail in the sum of GHS200,000.00 with two sureties to be justified.
The accused are expected to reappear before the court on October 5.
Meanwhile, Police prosecutors in charge of the case have revealed they intend to amend facts and charges against the accused persons at the next hearing.
