Ghana is hosting the 7th edition of the Federation of African Engineering Organization (FAEO) week and the organisation’s 5th African Engineering conference from Monday, 4th October, 2021 to Friday, 8th October, 2021.
Under the theme: Engineering, Inter-African Trade And the Sustainable Development Goals, the week-long celebration and conference will be attended by the President of the World Federation of Engineering Organization (WFEO), Professor Dr. GONG KE; the President of the Federation of African Engineering Organization (FAEO), Ing. Carlien Bou-Chedid and top officials from UNESCO as well as engineers around the world.
The meeting would be held at the Accra Marriott Hotel with Alan John Kyerematen, Minister for Trade and Industry as the special guest of honour.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, some engineers are scheduled to meet in person at the Accra Marriott hotel with other engineers and partners around the world joining the programmes via online.
The President of Ghana Institution of Engineering (GhIE), Engineer Prof. Charles Anum Adams assured the participants that all is set for Ghana to host them for their week celebration and conference.
He added that the institution is open to all visitors and also institutions who want to partner with them for the smooth organisation of the event.
On her part, the President of the Federation of African Engineering Organization (FAEO), a Ghanaian female engineer and a former President of GhIE, Engineer. Mrs. Carlien Bou-Chedid explained that there will be paper presentations on the chosen theme.
She said with Ghana chosen as the secretariat for the African Continental Free Trade, the federation thought it wise to bring the 5thConference of African Engineers to Ghana to deliberate and present blueprint for attaining inclusive and sustainable development across the continent.
