After health experts detected some 34 cases of the Omicron variant of the coronavirus at the Kotoka International Airport (KIA), many Ghanaians are concerned about a possible surge in the rate of infections this December.
Among other things, the Ghana Health Service (GHS) made some modifications to its protocols regarding foreign travel through the KIA. GHS also directed that all persons 18 years and above arriving in Ghana from December 12 must provide proof of full vaccination.
In view of this, Emefa Apawu sits down with the Director-General of the Service, Dr Patrick Kuma-Aboagye to discuss the numerous measures including new vaccine mandates put in place to prevent a surge as the festive season approaches.
