According to sources, the Spanish Football Federation is putting pressure on Barcelona youngster, Abdessamad Ezzalzouli to reject Morocco's national team call-up.
The winger was named in Morocco's squad for the upcoming Africa Cup on Nations in Cameroon by head coach Vahid Halilhodzic this week.
Following a string of good performances for Barcelona since being given his debut, the 19-year-old has attracted the attention of both the Moroccan coach with the Spanish Football Federation also said to be keeping tabs on him.
However, the North Africans have acted swiftly to ensure the player plays for the Dessert Foxes at next month's AFCON, a decision which looks to have not gone down well with the Spanish Football Federation, who are pushing for Ezzalzouli to reject the invitation.
The Spanish Football Federation is said to be willing to give the youngster a call-up into the senior national team should he refuse to feature for Morocco.
The teenager was promoted to Barcelona's senior team earlier this season before making his debut in October against Deportivo Alaves. He also scored his first goal for the club in the 2-2 draw with Osasuna in the Spanish La Liga.
Ezzalzouli moved to Spain with his parents at the age of seven having been born in Beni Malal, a town in Morroco.
He started his senior career with Hercules in 2019, having previously been in the youth rank after a spell with some of Spain's lower division clubs.
