Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) Officer for West Gonja Municipality of Savannah Region, Musah Kusubari Karim has responded to calls for help by parents of newly born triplets at the West Gonja Hospital.
Mr. Karim presented an undisclosed amount of money to the mother of the triplets, Lesseini Kande for the upkeep of the babies and their five other children.

The donation was in response to an appeal by the parents of the triplets, Mr. Lesseini Ngnneini and Mrs. Lesseini Kande to the general public and organisations for support.
The three babies were successfully delivered by Doctors at West Gonja Hospital on Wednesday, December 29, 2021.

Accompanied by the Municipal Coordinating Director of West Gonja, Peter Petro, and other staff of the Assembly, Mr. Karim stated that, the gesture marks the beginning of more support to aid the well-being of the babies.
"They are wonderful gifts from Allah and their parents' cry will not remain with them alone because it is not easy to feed a mouth," he said.

"So, I will take the matter up beyond the Municipality because we will need them (babies) tomorrow and we will work to take care of them," the MCE hinted.
The MCE further indicated that the Assembly is committed to providing the needed logistics, with particular focus on the NICU at the Hospital to improve maternal services in the district.

"The West Gonja Hospital is undoubtedly a referral center in the region that deserves all the support to operate, hence the need for the Assembly to step in," he assured.
