Senior Police Officer, ACP Benjamin Agordzo’s application to declare his interdiction as unlawful has been dismissed by the General Jurisdiction 3 of the High Court.
Since November 2019, ACP Agordzo has been on trial for his alleged role in a supposed coup plot.
Although the Senior Officer has maintained his innocence, the police administration interdicted him, a decision he describes as unlawful.
According to the Senior Police Officer, the failure of the Service to put him through disciplinary processes within 3 months of his interdiction makes his continuous interdiction unlawful, and a breach of his right to administrative justice.
Thus, prayed the Court for the decision to be revoked.
However, the presiding judge, Olivia Obeng Owusu said the application could not hold due to the peculiar nature of the case.
Since ACP Agordzo was interdicted on Tuesday, November 19, 2019, for his alleged involvement in a plot to overthrow the government he has employed means to get the decision to be revoked.
However, all his efforts have proved futile.
His legal representation on Thursday, April 23, 2020, wrote to the Inspector General of Police (IGP) demanding revocation of the interdiction, which the IGP declined on Wednesday, May 27, 2020.
