The Constitutional, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs Committee resumed its public hearing of the Proper Human Sexual Rights and Ghanaian Family Values Bill 2021.
It was the third public hearing. The Committee expected about eight presentations today. The groups that showed up had a maximum of 20 minutes for the presentations.
About 150 memoranda from individuals, groups and faith-based organizations have been presented to the Committee regarding the Bill.
If passed in its current state, the Bill will criminalise Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer (LGBTQ+) and their related activities in the country.
