As the war between Ukraine and Russia enters its fourth day, concerns are still rife about the stakes for civilians who have been caught in the crossfire.
Though Russia insists that its attack are limited to military bases and installations, reports from Kyiv show that civilian casualties have not been left out of the fray as missiles have hit many areas aside from the stipulated targets.
Foreign nationals have joined forces with trapped locals to escape the crisis into safer nearby countries by road.
While foreign missions race against the clock to facilitate the evacuation of their respective nationals, Ghana is pushing for same.
There have been a series of interventions - governmental and non-governmental - directed at evacuating students and others in the European country.
Here’s a compilation of facilities that Ghanaians in Ukraine can take advantage of.
Ministry of Foreign Affairs & Regional Integration
Ghana’s government, in a February 25 statement, said it was liaising with student leaders and missions across Europe.
According to the press release, discussions are far advanced to receive Ghanaians at the borders with Hungary and Romania.

Meanwhile, the National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS) says a group of Ghanaian students who were living in Chernivtsi in Ukraine have been evacuated to Romania, following arrangements made by the Foreign Ministry and will be catered for by the Romanian government.
We have confirmed very reliably that Ghanaian Students who were in the City of Chernivtsi-Ukraine have arrived safely in Romania 🇷🇴 and are being catered for by the government of Romania as per arrangements made by the @GhanaMFA . Train to Hungary safely on the move as well🙏🏻.
