Seasoned Ghanaian actor, Bill Asamoah, has advised prospective actors and actresses in the country to be proactive and hone their skills.
"You don't just sit at home and say I want to be an actor, just because you dropped out of school or you don't know what to do with your life..acting is a skill, you need to polish it".
He revealed that there are many places that prospective actors and actresses could acquire knowledge from in attempts to sharpen their skills.
"I had to come to the Center for National Culture [to learn]…there are about three drama clubs here that train some of these younger ones who want to be part of the acting world".
He made the comment while on Showbiz A-Z on Saturday, March 5, 2022.
This is also in line with the show's efforts to mark #GhanaMonthOnJoy, an initiative that runs throughout the month to propagate the need to celebrate Ghanaian traditions.
Interacting with host George Quaye, Bill Asamoah praised the government for its intention to build a creative arts school in the Ashanti Region.
This, he believes will open the gates for creatives to enrol and acquire knowledge that better places them in positions to contribute their quota in arts and tourism.
Bill Asamoah further advised that acting should not remain a wish.
He also extended a request to the government to put faith in the creative arts sector as they are in a position to better project some of its policies through storytelling and film.
