Bristol City manager, Nigel Pearson has confirmed Antoine Semenyo has been given an invitation into the Black Stars team ahead of the upcoming international break.
Semenyo, prior to the confirmation from Pearson, had been reported in the Ghanaian media as one of the new faces to arrive in the Black Stars team for the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifier.
Ghana face Nigeria in a double-header for a place in Qatar to represent Africa with the first leg taking place on Friday, March 25, at the Baba Yara Stadium.
Speaking following Bristol's league game over the weekend, which saw Semenyo substituted in the 7th minute, Pearson revealed the player's inclusion in Ghana's squad while confirming that the player is upset about his injury situation though no decision has been made yet.
"I don’t know at the moment but obviously he’s upset at the moment because he’s been called up for the Ghana squad and he’s jarred his knee so we’ll have to see how he is," the gaffer said.
"I can’t give you any more than that at the moment."
Semenyo has scored 6 goals and provided 8 assists in 25 appearances in the Championship this season and was named player of the month in January.
