Bristol City forward, Antoine Semenyo, insists he is hopeful of getting a call-up to the Black Stars to play in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.
Semenyo was expected to take part in Ghana's 2022 World Cup qualifier playoff against Nigeria but failed to make the final cut after suffering an injury in the last few games before the March international break.
The 22-year-old's name has not been discarded for the Ghana squad and has continued his impressive form since returning from the injury that kept him out of the games against Nigeria.
Speaking to Accra-based Happy FM, the player revealed he is well-prepared to play on the African continent.
"I have followed the Black Stars all my life. I always follow the AFCON qualifiers. I am hoping to come for the qualifiers in June. I am ready physically, and mentally to play on the African continent," Semenyo said.
“I haven’t established myself to the Ghana fans and coach so I want to play as many games so I can show the people what I can do."
Semenyo has been directly involved in 20 goals for Bristol City in the English Championship this season, scoring eight and providing 12 assists.
