The Ghana National Paralympic Committee have officially written to the Judicial Committee of the World Amputee Football Federation to appeal the expulsion of Ghana from the 2022 Amputee World Cup.
The World Amputee Football Federation wrote to Ghana last month over their decision to make the team a standby team for the World Cup despite Ghana already securing their ticket to the mundial after winning the Nations Cup in Tanzania.
However, in a new twist, the NPC - Ghana, have formally informed WAFF of their decision to appeal plans to prevent Ghana from participating in the upcoming World Cup.
In a letter addressed to Mateusz Widlak, the National Paralympic Committee said, "With the exclusion of Ghana from the 2022 WAFF World Cup, I believe this is unfair and will help to kill the sport in the country fast. As you already have heard, there are plans to include Amputee Football in the upcoming African Para Games in 2023 and this decision of the WAFF is indeed in bad taste and will serve no positive purpose for the sport in Ghana but death to it. I will leave it here and I am sure our legal team will pick it up soon."
The National Paralympic Committee, led by president Samson Deen will be hoping for a positive feedback from WAFF.
