Residents of Nyoli, a community in the Wa West District of the Upper West Region, have benefited from a project that seeks to address their lack of access to potable water.
The project, which was commissioned by 4Ward Development West Africa, a private water utility service provider will help put an end to the struggles of the indigenes in their search for water.
Speaking at the commissioning of the project in Nyoli, the Chief Executive Officer of 4Ward Development West Africa noted that his outfit has successfully built two water towers, three public water kiosks and a host of other related initiatives.
He was therefore optimistic that the water systems will be expanded, with an increase in the number of beneficiaries.
"We will keep the water flowing. We will keep it safe, we will keep it reliable, we will keep it in your homes. We will continue to push for growth and expansion, serving 25,000 people this year in 3 communities and serving over100,000 people in the next four years, through this projects expansion", he emphasised.
Under the project, water kiosks have also been provided for commercial sale of water.
In this regard, persons who wish to connect water to their homes, will be required to pay a connection fee of ¢1,000.
Residents of the community express their delight about the project and thanked the 4Ward Development West Africa for coming to their aid.
The project will further be replicated in 10 different communities in the Upper West and Savannah regions accordingly.
Here is a report from JoyNews' Upper West Regional Correspondent, Rafiq Salam on the commissioning of the water project in Nyoli, by the 4Ward Development West Africa.
