The issue of ex-gratia has made waves again following the decision by a former member of the Council of State, Togbe Afede XIV to reject over ¢365,000 ex-gratia paid to him for serving on the Council of State between 2017 and 2020.
Subsequently, the Paramount Chief and Agbogbomefia of Asogli state received accolades from social media users who described his act as patriotic.
