As part of its corporate social responsibility, Ecobank Ghana, will renovate the female ward of the Pantang Psychiatric Hospital in the Greater Accra region.
According to its Managing Director, Daniel Sackey, prioritisation of mental health is key to boost productivity in various corporate institutions needed to support the economy at large.
Speaking to Joy Business at the commissioning of the project, Mr. Sackey said the renovation will address critical gaps in healthcare delivery system of the psychiatric hospital that has crippled access to quality health care by most women.
“We deem it quite a key event because this is part of our corporate social responsibility. Every year, we take a day out to support mental health. For the past three years, attention has been on health, especially non-communicable diseases".
"Our objective is to give back to society in which we operate”, he added.

Municipal Health Director for La Nkwantanang Madina Municipal Assembly, Dr. Priscilla Anima Poku called for more partnerships from other financial institutions.
She further indicated that her outfit will continue to work with Ecobank Ghana to deepen the existing relationship.
“We have been looking for such opportunities from financial institutions to come on board and help to get our patients and workers work in a conducive environment. We will work to ensure the relationship with Ecobank is tight”, she stated.
The project handed to the contactor is expected to be renovated soon.
It entails infrastructural support to enable health workers at the hospital operate in-house as well as provide outreach health services to support persons with mental illness.
