The Minister for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Dr. Ibrahim Mohammed Awal, has urged operators in the hospitality industry to improve on their customer services in order to maintain their cherished customers and even attract more to their facilities.
The Minister who was speaking as the Special Guest of Honour at the Tourism Forum being held at the Shekinah Glory Hotel in Sogakope said, there is the urgent need for owners of the various hotels and guest houses in the country to train their workers on customer care and make sure that guests are well taken care of and treated like kings and queens.
Dr. Ibrahim Mohammed Awal noted that prioritizing customer care is very important and a key to a profitable and vibrant hospitality industry.
He noted that, making customer care services a priority will help their facilities grow and be exposed to many opportunities in the industry.

"Clients or customers of the hospitality industry take these little gestures seriously and so can recommend or tarnish your business to other people, hence the need to take customer care services seriously and make your customers feel loved always," Dr. Ibrahim Mohammed Awal said.
He encouraged not only owners of hotels but restaurants, eateries and other businesses to always place a premium on customer care.
Dr. Awal reiterated government's commitment at making sure that hospitality industry is given the needed development and support to thrive even more than it is now.
He commended stakeholders in the Volta Region for doing well in tourism and encouraged them to do more.
The Minister pledged that the Volta Region will get its share of the good things the tourism industry has to offer.
Volta Regional Minister, Dr. Archibald Yao Letsa noted that tourist attractions in the Volta Region are many and need to be exploited.

He is hopeful that funds would be offered to the region for the development of the tourism attractions.
Board Chairman of the Ghana Tourism Authority, Mr. Seth Adjei Baah noted that tourism stakeholders must come together to get it right and expose the potentials of Ghana to the world.
Mr. Seth Adjei Baah noted that it is important to help the industry to become more vibrant and grow so that the needed benefits can be derived.
