The Ghana Association of Writers (GAW) has announced the postponement of the 6th GAW Literary Awards programme originally scheduled for November 2022 in Accra.
The awards will now take place on January 21, 2023, with the theme: “Honouring Literary Excellence.”
In a statement, GAW said the postponement is due to circumstances beyond its control.
“The Awards Planning Committee sincerely apologises for any inconvenience the postponement may have caused. We remain highly committed to the interest of all Ghanaian Writers,” the statement said.
GAW has announced nine categories with 20 writers shortlisted for the awards.
The categories include; novel, short story, spoken word, poetry, children’s storybook, creative non-fiction, Ghanaian language special award, math and science special award and special award to the strongest entrant.
