After a month's break due to the 2022 FIFA World Cup, some of the major leagues in Europe resumed during the festivities with some of Ghana's best players returning to their club duties.
The English Premier League, Spanish La Liga, French Ligue 1 and the English Championship all got back underway and some of Ghana's finest talents were in action.
Here is a wrap up some of the performances from Ghanaians over the weekend;
Thomas Partey was heavily involved in Arsenal's return to Premier League football as they continued their lead at the top of the table. The midfielder dispossessed Tariq Lamptey off the ball in the build up to the Gunners' opener.
Jordan Ayew scored his first league goal of the campaign in Crystal Palace's victory over Bournemouth on Saturday. The player had failed to score a Premier League goal since the start of the season.
Tariq Lamptey also featured in Brighton's loss to Arsenal while Mohammed Salisu was taken off late in the game as Southampton were beaten by Fulham.
Daniel Amartey featured in Leicester City's loss to Liverpool on December 30.
Salis Abdul Samed displayed greatness once again for RC Lens who secured a 3-1 win over Paris Sanit-Germain in the French Ligue 1 while Alidu Seidu also helped Clermont seal victory in their fixture.
Gideon Mensah played full throttle and was booked in Auxerre's league defeat to Nantes on Sunday.
In the Spanish top flight, Joseph Aidoo put on a good show in Celta Vigo's stalemate against Sevilla. The defender has played in all of Celta's games since returning from the World Cup.
Baba Iddrisu was back in the starting lineup for Mallorca who suffered a loss at the expense of Getafe.
Inaki Williams enjoyed 72 minutes of action in Athletic Bilbao's stalemate against Real Betis.
Antoine Semenyo was on the scoresheet for Bristol City as they earned a point against Coventry City in the Championship. The forward was handed a string berth for the first in a long while.
