Judahland Empire, a reggae music group in Ghana, has honored legendary highlife musician, Agya Koo Nimo as he celebrates his 92nd birthday.
The reggae lovers and Rastafarians, say the impactful music of the icon is worth celebrating.
Agya Koo Nimo, turned 92 years on Friday, January 27.
In honoring the life of a living legend, many industry players have spiced up the birthday celebration, aimed at leaving a long-lasting impression on the mind of the celebrant.
JudahLand Empire, the reggae music group, celebrated Agya Koo Nimo for his contributions towards the growth of the Ghana music industry.
The group believes it’s high time the legends of African music who helped put the continent on the globe are celebrated.
Leader of the group, Wisdom Kwabena Frimpong, popularly known as Jah Wisdom, says celebrating Agya Koo Nimo is an honour considering the impact he has had on music lovers.
“The story of the Agya is impactful. We have to honour him by all means. He has made great impact in the lives of some musicians and the industry” he said.
Elija Amokuji, a reggae singer and a Rastafarian, called on DJs and other industry players to prioritize the songs of the legendary Agya Koo Nimo.
“Djs must celebrate the legend by playing his songs all over radio and TV. He needs to be celebrated honorably” he added.
He believes this is the moment to celebrate the music icon.
Agya Koo Nimo expressed his gratitude to the group and other Ghanaians for celebrating him.
He wants his songs to live on when he is gone.
