Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has confirmed that midfielder Thomas Partey's availability for Saturday's trip to Aston Villa remains uncertain.
Partey missed Wednesday's 3-1 loss to Manchester City due to a muscular injury, causing Arsenal to relinquish their lead in the Premier League table.
Although Partey's injury is not deemed serious, Arteta stated the player is still feeling some discomfort and will be under observation, leading up to the lunchtime kickoff.
“We have to assess him (on Friday) again,” Arteta said. “He had a little muscle discomfort and will be assessed this morning.”
After spending a significant amount of time on the sidelines, Emile Smith Rowe might rejoin the team.
“Emile will be training today. If he’s fine, he’ll be in the squad,” he added.
