As part of Ghana’s quest to boost revenue from exports , Zenith Bank Ghana in partnership with the World Trade Centre, Accra and Alibaba.com have launched the "The Alibaba Global Seller Training E-Course Masterclass’’.
The training is intended to equip small and medium sized organisations with the needed insight and resources to promote their businesses on Alibaba.com and other e-commerce platforms.
Experts from Zenith Bank Ghana, Alibaba.com and Ghana Export Promotion Authority took participants through practical training in proper bookkeeping and financial management, search engine optimisation and marketing as well as export requirement processes.
Speaking to Joy Business Divisional Head in charge of Marketing at Zenith Bank Ghana, Kwame Adadey said, his outfit is committed to supporting SMEs with financial advisory services to maximise their full potential and expand to global markets.
“We realised that the partnership with Alibaba we would be able to help SMEs get the greater space outside even beyond Ghana. This we believe will help our SMEs grow beyond this country.
On the need for Ghanaian businesses to leverage on e-commerce platforms to boost exports, Executive Director for World Trade Centre Ghana, Edem Yevutse, said it was time for the African market to benefit from e-commerce platforms by listing their products instead of just buying from such platforms.
“Technology is creating a lot of business opportunities which was not existence years ago. It was in my opinion an injustice that users in Africa could only import and not export and that why we decided to engage Alibaba”, he added.
The training which will continue until the March 9, 2023, will be held every Thursday at the World Trade Centre in Accra.
