It is the end of the earthly journey for Christian Atsu Twasam, the late Black Stars winger. Short but impactful. Scores of Ghanaians, including President Akufo Addo bid him farewell on Friday, March 17, after a state funeral held at the forecourt of the State House. He played 65 times for the Black Stars and found the back of the net on 10 occasions. Atsu met his untimely death in the deadly 7.8 magnitude quake that hit Turkey and Syria on February 6 and killed over 43,000 people. His death drew so much tears from many eyes. At the funeral, tributes honoured him variously as a great father, kind-hearted, humane, always smiling, hardworking, down-to-earth and philanthropic individual with an uncommon amiability.
