Joy Prime's maiden edition of Cues and Lyrics, a reality show, is down to 40 prospective contestants.
This was after a gruelling and nerve-wracking series of selection exercises to pick the best for the show.
Each prospective contestant had to undergo screening before facing off with the judges.
Successful individuals had two minutes to demonstrate their musical prowess to the judges.
The judges, Mix Master Garzy and Fortune Dane, had a hard time selecting from the hundreds that turned up for the audition, as budding musicians exhibited promise and talents.
They finally decided on the 40 based on their delivery and their creativity, uniqueness, confidence, and stagecraft.
The shortlisted individuals will have a final round of auditions to select the final 12 contestants for the maiden season of the reality show.

Although many who did not make the cut for the competition left disappointed, they were nonetheless thankful to Joy Prime for providing them with the platform to exhibit their talents and to receive advice from key music industry players.
They promised never to drop the microphone as they vow to improve on their act for subsequent editions of the Cues and Lyrics reality show.
Joy Prime believes Cues and Lyrics is driven by a commitment to empower young people to be creative in their quest to become music stars.
In all, the winner will walk home with a juicy package of GHC50,000 in cash prize, a recording contract for two singles, airplay worth GHC 30,000, and a trip to Dubai.

Cues and Lyrics will be aired on your ultimate TV viewing experience, Joy Prime, at 8 p.m. every Sunday.
Joy Prime is on DSTV 281, GoTV 180, and HD+102. You can also get the content on-demand on Joy Prime YouTube, as well as on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
