Listen to the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Bernard Antwi Boasiako (Chairman Wontumi) making it clear that the electoral fortunes of the party in the 2024 general elections is heavily dependent on the completion of the Suame Interchange project.
Background
After President Akufo-Addo cut sod in October 2022, the project is yet to commence.
The 4-tier interchange project, which was to be constructed in two phases within 30 months, includes five overpasses and the widening of the Kumasi-Offinso Road.
Last week, some media personalities in Kumasi some residents to clear overgrown weeds at the roundabout which is partially cordoned off.
During a press conference organised to mark the region's current NPP leadership’s first-year anniversary, Chairman Wontumi explained the project will be a major factor if the party is to retain power in the 2024 election.
