A jilted lover has allegedly killed his girlfriend in Trom, a suburb of Koforidua in the Eastern Region.
The gruesome incident occurred on Saturday, June 17, 2023, at Junction 5 in the Trom community.
It is alleged that the victim had been in the process of breaking up with the suspect and had recently relocated to her current location.

According to some co-tenants in the house where the incident took place, the suspect visited his girlfriend while a naming ceremony was taking place in the house.
The deceased believed to be 23 years old, went outside to meet the suspect and brought him into her room.
It appears that the suspect killed the victim amidst the noise of the naming ceremony, making it difficult for anyone to hear the victim's distressed screams for help.
Reportedly, the suspect struggled with the victim and forcefully placed a piece of cloth in her mouth before slitting her throat.
Later in the evening, the suspect, who is in his 30s, reported himself to the police.
He wore a red shirt with 'Rest In Peace' inscription on the back.
After taking inventory of the crime scene, the police retrieved the victim's body, which had been left in cold blood, and deposited it at the morgue.
Anger and tension escalated in the community as some irate youth gathered at the scene, threatening to attack the suspect. In response, the police swiftly whisked the suspect away in a taxi, leaving the scene to diffuse the situation.
