Wendy Shay has explained why she composed her latest song ‘Every Man Cheats’.
She told Kwame Dadzie on Joy FM’s Twitter Spaces show Joy Entertainment Unpacked that it is hard to prevent men from cheating so women should stop making sacrifices to tame men.
She noted that a lot of women are enhancing their bodies and engaging in dangerous lifestyles just to keep their men, but they get disappointed in the end.
“The song is to make a statement that men are prone to cheat and no matter a woman’s status, beauty or influence, men will still cheat so it’s about time women came to the realisation and understand that keeping a man goes beyond big boobs and big buttocks.
I’ve seen many women lose their lives because they went under the knife thinking that would save their marriages or relationships and I think women should rather build their inner qualities rather than focusing too much on their physical," she noted.
Wendy added that when a woman builds herself, it makes her attractive and with that she wouldn’t need a man’s validation.
When asked if she would trade her music career for marriage, she answered in the negative.
“I am not even thinking about marriage, because you know music is my destiny and that is what makes me relevant in this life and so I don’t think that I will trade something like that for marriage,” she said.
Joy Entertainment Unpacked runs on Joy FM’s Twitter handle on Wednesdays from 8pm to 10pm.
