The regulator of Ghana's insurance industry, the National Insurance Commission (NIC), has released he Public perception, Awareness and Confidence of Insurance Survey (PPAC) for 2022.
For the period ending 2022, the survey relied on standardized questionnaires that were deployed to purposively identified respondents across all sixteen administrative regions of the country.
The aim was to measure the knowledge of, attitude towards, and confidence in insurance products and services by the general public.
The recent study for the period coincided with the public health situation at the time, and measured the impact of the global COVDI-10 pandemic on public perception of insurance.
It also assessed Ghana's Domestic Debt Exchange Programme (DDEP), and how it had impacted the views of the public on taking up insurance policies.
The insurance regulator started the PPAC survey in 2019, to measure public appreciation of insurance products and services.
