The 2023/24 Malta Guinness Ghana Women’s Premier League commenced over the weekend with nine games played across the two zones.
Defending champions Ampem Darkwa Ladies were not in action as they stepped up preparations for the 2023/24 CAF Women's Champions League.
There were four wins in the Northern Zone while the Southern Zone recorded three victories in five games.
Newly-promoted Fosu Royals Ladies beat Supreme Ladies with a 2-1 score line. Charity Ankomah and Gloria Adomako Ameaa were on the scoresheet for Fosu Royals.
Tamale Super Ladies were 1-0 winners over Prisons Ladies with Asana Alhassan scoring the only goal of the game.
Kumasi Sports Academy beat Pearlpia Ladies with a 2-1 scoreline while Northern Ladies recorded a 1-0 win over Ashtown Ladies.
In the Southern Zone, A Vera Bema brace propelled Army Ladies to a 3-2 win over Police Ladies.
Faith Ladies and Berry Ladies played out a 1-1 draw, the same scoreline as the fixture between Essiam Socrates and LadyStrikers.
Jonina Ladies suffered defeat to Soccer Intellectuals in their maiden game in the league following their promotion.
Mukarama Abdulai announced her return to the league with a goal as Hasaacas Ladies also beat Sea Lions.
