The Catholic Bishops Conference has issued a solemn caution against the insidious encroachment of the politics of religion.
As the spectre of the 2024 elections loomed, these spiritual leaders stressed the paramount importance of shielding the nation from the divisive tendrils of religious politics.
As the spiritual custodians of a nation that prides itself on unity in diversity, the bishops fervently urged citizens to elevate the welfare of Ghana above all partisan affiliations.

In their impassioned plea, the bishops reminded the faithful and all Ghanaians alike that their shared identity as a secular state, recognising the freedom to practice any religion and participate in any political party, should not be compromised.
The sanctity of this constitutional principle, they asserted, is fundamental to preserving the peace and unity of the motherland.

The bishops, drawing on the wisdom of years, admonished against allowing religious fervour to become a divisive force in the political discourse.
They underscored that as the nation stands on the brink of a crucial electoral process, the focus must be unwaveringly fixed on the common thread that binds every Ghanaian – a shared commitment to the unity and progress of the nation.

The bishops interwove a plea for a politics rooted in the collective welfare of Ghana, devoid of religious bias.
Their message was contained in a communique issued at the end of their annual plenary held in Sunyani.
