Some residents of Santeo Jordan in Kpone-Katamanso, in the Greater Accra Region, have found themselves homeless following the demolition of their houses.
In a report by Citi FM, the demotion, which has left about 100 residents homeless, was carried out by an alleged estate developer, who is claiming ownership of the lands.
One resident noted that he was offered some items, including 50 bags of cement and blocks, to move out of his three-bedroom house.
However, he refused the offer adding that the demolition of his home comes two months after the proposition.
The resident has refused to budge from the site stating “I started building this house in 2009, and I was building it small, small, and I only finished it in 2018. I will go nowhere, I will be here till they kill me and my family."
Meanwhile, many others affected by the incident are struggling to find shelter for themselves as they grapple with the loss of their homes and property.
