The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) International, a prominent global professional body for logistics and transport, has appointed Chief Teete Owusu-Nortey FCILT, a distinguished Ghanaian, as its new international President.

This momentous occasion marks a significant stride for the organisation, welcoming its first-ever African president since its establishment in 1919.

Chief Teete Owusu-Nortey brings an extensive background of experience and unwavering commitment to his new role.

Having been a member of CILT Ghana for nearly three decades, he has held various leadership positions within the Institute.

His profound understanding of the global logistics and transport industry, coupled with his dedication to fostering professional development and diversity, positions him as the ideal candidate to lead CILT International into its next chapter.

Expressing his gratitude for the appointment, Chief Teete stated, "My predecessors have laid a solid foundation for CILT to continue to be a leading voice for every professional in our industry.

"I, therefore, see my role as the Conductor of a seasoned orchestra, and I will work diligently to ensure that every instrument can play its part in creating the harmonious song that will propel us to the next level."

Following the appointment, Chief Teete Owusu-Nortey is joined by the new President-Elect, Jan Steenberg FCILT, who has been an integral part of CILT since 1995.

With extensive experience as a Trustee and Chair of the International Education Standard Committee, Steenberg is globally recognised for his leadership in supply chain management solutions.

Together, Chief Teete Owusu-Nortey and President-Elect Jan Steenberg are poised to guide CILT International to new heights.

The Institute, with over 32,000 members and branches in more than 38 countries, remains committed to fostering professional learning through its global education charity.

CILT International has a strong focus on growing its network for both Women in Logistics and Transport (WILAT) and Next Generation (NG) leaders in the industry.
