The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Volta Regional Chairman, Mr Makafui Kofi Woanya, has urged show hosts and media personnel to steer clear of favouritism towards any particular political party.
The call for impartiality comes at a time when various parties political in the region are gearing up for the upcoming general elections.
Addressing a gathering of media professionals at a press soiree in Ho, the Chairman, Mr Makafui Kofi Woanya emphasised the crucial role that the media plays in shaping public opinion and fostering a healthy democratic environment.
He urged journalists and show hosts to uphold the principles of fairness and objectivity in their coverage of political events and discussions.

"Media has the power to influence public perception and shape the narrative surrounding political events. It is imperative that journalists and show hosts remain impartial and provide the public with accurate and unbiased information," Mr Makafui Kofi Woanya stated.
Mr. Woanya highlighted the importance of presenting diverse perspectives and allowing the audience to make informed decisions based on a comprehensive understanding of various political ideologies.
The Chairman stressed that media outlets should not be platforms for promoting a specific political agenda but should instead serve as vehicles for open and transparent dialogue.
He further urged journalists to prioritise the public interest and adhere to ethical standards, ensuring that their reporting remains free from undue influence.
In addition to calling for media impartiality, Mr. Woanya also encouraged political parties to engage in constructive and issues-based discussions.
He emphasised the need for a healthy democratic process where parties can present their ideas and policies without fear of bias.
