Ghanaian musician, G-West has picked Afro-fusion as his genre of music, noting that the genre allows him to explore rich musical traditions and pushing creative boundaries.
G-West revealed to Mic 2 in an interview over the weekend on Adom FM Entertainment Show that his genre of music is Afro-Fusion, where he fuses or blends African rhythms and music with rhythm & blues and other contemporary rhythms.
According to him, combining African rhythms with R&B is an exciting approach to music-making. It merges the soulful melodies and smooth vocals of R&B with the infectious beats and cultural influences of African music, resulting in a dynamic and captivating sound.
This fusion, he reckons allows him to create music that is both familiar and fresh, appealing to audiences who enjoy the emotional depth of R&B while fusing it with the rich texture and rhythms of African music. It also provides an opportunity for G-West to showcase his versatility as an artist, blending different genres to express his unique musical identity.
Additionally, G-West explained that his music People Pleaser is from a place of interest where people or a person is made to be pleasing others most often, but at a point must be also pleased for a balanced relationship.
This drove the presenter to quote a text in the bible where “one is asked to love his neighbor as himself and not more than himself”, with both bursting into laughter.
G-west revealed that he takes inspiration in the day-to-day growth despite it not being so easy, he acknowledges that with hard work and perseverance while broadening his scope and contacting relevant networks, he will surely get to his foreseeable destination.
