When Geisha Soap was approached to be the title sponsor for the 5th National Women’s Summit & Expo last year, it was a no-brainer to participate.
As a brand, Geisha has been a champion for women and mothers. With its longer-lasting properties, we have proudly spoken about how each bar of soap lasts and lasts like a mother’s love.
Thus, “Olastaama” is not just a marketing slogan, but is a tried and tested proof point in projecting women.
Geisha as an Enabler for Women
We chose to remain part of the National Women’s Summit & Expo for the second year running, held on 8th March 2024, which is International Women’s Day.
This brought together female leaders in public service, corporate life, and the creative space with attendants taken from a cross-section of society, including girls from senior high schools in Accra.

Beyond giving women value for money, Geisha Soap has shown a commitment to this demographic by saluting the strength and resilience that they exhibit in daily life.
By offering the brand’s support for women, Geisha Soap is continuing with its focus of being a “strong soap for long-lasting care”.
We have seen the benefits of female empowerment that come from networking and mentoring. This event was a chance to put our customers in the same place for a cause we all believe in.
So, whether it was Celestina Allotey talking about how she took up engineering as a challenge or Lydia Forson giving insights into succeeding in the creative industry, we knew that women and girls were being inspired to achieve their ambitions. This is what Geisha stands for.
Geisha Inspiring the Next Generation
Prior to the 6th National Women’s Summit & Expo, we launched a new initiative: Geisha Nex Gen School Storm. This is an opportunity for the brand to interact with girls and boys in senior high school.
The first edition saw a lineup of speakers descending on Wesley Grammar for an afternoon of engagement.
Theresa Ayoade (CEO of Charterhouse), Ivy Ofofi (Research & Development Oral Care Manager, Unilever West Africa), and Janet Sunkwa-Mills (Marketing Consultant and Chairperson of the Executive Women’s Network) shared inspirational messages with the students before the entertainment leg of the event.
Mfantsiman Girls SHS is next on the caravan train, where another exciting group will shine a light on the possibilities that abound shortly for these girls.

Celebrating the Strength and Resilience of Women
As a brand that has been on the market for decades, Unilever Ghana’s skin cleansing brand, Geisha Soap, has not wavered in its commitment to mothers and women.
Through their hard work for their families through thick and thin, women have shown what strength and resilience can accomplish at every level.
It is these values that Geisha has chosen to uphold as a brand with the purpose of the betterment of society.
And that’s why with every bar of Geisha Soap we support the empowerment of women.
