Albert Nat Hyde, known by his online name Bongo Ideas, has for the first time spoken publicly about his alleged abduction and torture.
Speaking to German broadcaster DW Africa, Bongo Ideas recounted some men breaking into his home and threatening to kill him.
He said that he was beaten up by these men and asked not to speak again about the President in his social media posts.
“So on 14th March 2024, around 3 am, some men masquerading as police officers broke into my room and dragged me out. I was threatened to be killed, pistols were pointed at my head.
"I was told to say my last prayers. They beat me up and warned me not to speak about the president," he told DW.

Earlier in March reports began circulating that some security operatives had arrested Bongo Ideas from his home after he made a series of unpleasant posts about President Akufo-Addo and First Lady Rebecca Akufo-Addo.
One of his family members in an interview with Zionfelix alleged that the men had showed up in police uniform and any attempt to find the station Bongo Ideas was sent to, proved futile.
However, in a press statement on March 15, the police said they had no hand in the arrest of the social media commentator.
The police added that a family member of Bongo Ideas had informed them he was at home.
Later the Ministry of National Security also released a statement denying having any hand in the young man's arrest.
They urged the public to disregard any claims that the National Security was responsible for Bongo Ideas' arrest.
