The Ghana Premier League Matchday 24 promises to be an exciting one with the games carrying significant stakes, including battles for the summit, top four, and relegation.
The weekend's fixtures kick off on Friday when Great Olympics travel to Abrankese to face Nations FC at the Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex. The visitors have been struggling on the road, suffering three defeats in their last four matches and managing to score only one goal.
Meanwhile, the hosts are brimming with confidence, riding on a wave of red-hot form after securing three consecutive home victories. A win against Olympics would temporarily propel Nations FC to the top of the table.
Hearts of Oak return to the Accra Sports Stadium - venue was earmarked for African Games - after weeks of featuring at the Baba Yara Stadium. The Phobians remain determined under head coach Ouattara Aboubakar to continue their decent form against Bibiani Gold Stars.
Samartex, currently the league leaders, welcome the defending champions, Medeama, to Samreboi, as they aim to extend their lead. Samartex put an end to Hearts of Oak’s six-game unbeaten streak in their previous outing, while Medeama suffered a narrow defeat to Accra Lions.
Top four hopefuls, Asante Kotoko make a trip to the Fosu Gyeabour Park to square off against fifth-placed Bechem United. The Porcupines are on a jerky run of form, with no victory in their previous four matches. Prosper Narteh Ogum is under intense pressure to arrest the slump in form.
One win in five games has seen Nsoatreman relinquish their credentials as title contenders. With the hope of turning things around, they seek victory against Berekum Chelsea who have been erratic in recent games.
Elsewhere, Bofoakwa Tano are eyeing a victory against Accra Lions to climb out of the relegation zone. In another crucial battle for survival, Hearts of Lions, also in the danger zone, will take on Karela United, who sit just two points clear of the bottom three.
Meanwhile, bottom-placed Real Tamale United are set to face title contenders Aduana Stars in Dorma, hoping to defy the odds and secure an unexpected win.
