Hearts of Oak coach, Aboubakar Ouattara, has attributed the mistake made by goalkeeper Sharif Shuaib in their game against Bibiani GoldStars to a lack of experience.
The midseason signing attempted a fast break against the visitors on Sunday at the Accra Sports Stadium, but it deflected off an opposition player's body and was subsequently scored by Mawuli Way, resulting in a 1-0 loss.
Speaking after the Ghana Premier League round 24 game, the Ivorian trainer was protective of the goalkeeper, stating that he is there to correct these types of mistakes.
“That unfortunately, we conceded one goal, that's the problem,” Aboubakar Ouattara told StarTimes after the game.
“That counter attack the goalkeeper wanted to do; that is lack of the experience of him, but I think all these things, we are there to prepare the team.”
The Phobians have now suffered consecutive losses under Aboubakar Ouattara after being unbeaten for five games under the Ivorian trainer.
Hearts of Oak remain tenth in the league standings with 32 points, failing to seize the opportunity to move up the table.
