Joyce Bawah Mogtari, Special Aide to former President John Dramani Mahama, has criticised the Akufo-Addo-led government's newly launched Performance Tracker, dismissing it as a misplaced priority.
She argued that the tracker failed to address the rampant corruption within the Akufo-Addo/Bawumia administration, which has negatively impacted public finances.
Madam Bawah insisted that the tracker is a waste of limited state resources, as it does not provide transparency regarding the government's extravagant spending.
To my utter surprise and disappointment, the misleading GoG Performance Tracker, failed to track the performance of Akufo Addo/Bawumia’s performance on corruption.

What a waste of precious resources! Tell us how you and your boys and girls have perfected the art of corruption.…
In a tweet on Thursday, April 11, the former Deputy Transport Minister highlights that 80% of government projects and contracts are single-sourced, alleging that the government favours nepotism by handpicking individuals and companies for lucrative contracts.
She emphasised that Ghanaians anticipated revelations about government performance from the tracker, specifically regarding nepotism and questionable contracts.
"To my utter surprise and disappointment, the misleading GoG Performance Tracker failed to track the performance of Akufo Addo/Bawumia’s performance on corruption."
"What a waste of precious resources! Tell us how you and your boys and girls have perfected the art of corruption."
"We are told that 80% of government projects and contracts are single-sourced, and individuals and companies are handpicked by this nepotistic government and awarded juicy contracts," she posted.
She further urged the government to prioritize policies aimed at improving the lives of struggling Ghanaians and to halt unnecessary expenditure of state funds.
"That is what this NPP government should be tracking down and paying back to the now miserably empty public purse," she added.
Her comment coincides with the government's launch of the Performance Tracker at the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) in Accra on Wednesday, April 10.
The platform's objective is to enhance transparency and accountability in the implementation of government infrastructure projects nationwide.
Meanwhile, Minister of Works and Housing, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, who unveiled the Performance Tracker, emphasised its role in promoting transparency and accountability in infrastructure projects across the nation.
Mr Nkrumah underscores the tracker's significance in addressing concerns about project accuracy and reliability, especially in depicting project outcomes through artist's impressions.
During the official launch at GIMPA on Wednesday, April 10, Nkrumah highlights that the tracker currently contains data on over 13,000 projects nationwide.
He noted that the tracker builds upon the foundation laid by the Delivery Tracker introduced by Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia in 2020.
