Election Watch Ghana has submitted a Right to Information (RTI) application seeking the serial numbers of all Biometric Verification Register (BVR) kits intended for use in the upcoming limited voter registration exercise.
Jude Balma, the convener of the group, in a statement, explained that they are also seeking information on the specific registration centres where each BVR kit will be deployed during the exercise.
The initiative by Election Watch Ghana underscores the importance of transparency and accountability in the electoral process.
The limited voter registration exercise, scheduled to run from May 7 to May 27, 2024, aims to facilitate the inclusion of new eligible voters, particularly those who have recently turned 18, into the voter register.
Below is the full statement.
