The President, John Evans Atta Mills, has instructed the Mayor of the Accra Metropolitan Authority (AMA) to facilitate investigations on two journalists assaulted by AMA taskforce.President Mills has also tasked Dr. Alfred Vanderpuije, the AMA Mayor, to ensure that items seized are refunded.AMA taskforce, in the presence of the police, mercilessly beat Cyrus De-Graft Johnson, a broadcast journalist from Joy FM, and Alhassan Esuhin, a reporter from Radio Gold, who were reporting the destruction of unauthorized structures in the vicinity of the Accra Shopping Mall at the Tetteh Quarshie Interchange on Thursday night.Their mobile phones, recorders and other valuable items were seized.Following news of the incident, President Atta Mills has had a telephone conversation with the affected journalists and has apologized to them.Story by Isaac Essel/Myjoyonline.com
