Kumasi is set to experience an encounter with God and the revival of the church as the city hosts the 2024 edition of the Global Crusade with Kumuyi (GCK).
The non-denominational event hinged on Christian principles is aimed at promoting national cohesion and integration for peace and conflict resolution.
Since its inception three years ago in Nigeria, the Global Crusade with Kumuyi has seen over 5 million attendees and thousands of people saved through the ministry of the Convener.
The event, under the auspices of the General Superintendent of the Deeper Life Bible Church, Dr. William F. Kumuyi, is in collaboration with the Christian community of Ghana.

Dubbed GCK-Ghana, the five-day event is to propagate the Gospel, and strengthen the faith of steadfast believers ahead of the second advent of Christ.
“GCK is a powerful vehicle for realizing the vision of spreading the gospel of Salvation. Making use of technology and modern communication channels to reach millions across the globe from an anchor location, GCK aims to reach every corner of the earth with the message of hope and redemption,” National Overseer of the Deeper Christian Life Ministries in Ghana, Pastor Edward Duodu, said.
Ghana has in recent years experienced economic turmoil leaving many of its citizens predominantly Christians in a state of despair.
But Secretariat Coordinator of the GCK in Ghana, Pastor E. Tumsiah, believes the event will transform socioeconomic development, social adjustment and ensure political stability.
“We believe that Ghana has much more to gain in the transformation of our youth to chart a future course that is full of confidence to succeed and a mindset tailored towards hard work and future greatness. If we desire socio-economic transformation, spiritual turnaround and social adjustment and political stability and national growth we stand to gain a lot as a nation to succinctly embrace the national growth,” he said.
Executive Director of Salt and Light Ministries, Dr. Joyce Aryee is optimistic about the potential of the crusade in promoting a thriving society.

“GCK has demonstrated its ability to be a tool for societal cohesion and integration for peace and conflict resolution. GCK has engaged political leaders and economic actors to map out the path for political independence, peace, and economic emancipation for nations and states, making it a platform for fostering national cohesion and peace,” she said.
The event will also provide an avenue for the youth to be empowered in various professional disciplines for employment.
The 2024 edition of the GCK slated for July 25 to July 30 at the Kumasi Sports Stadium is on the theme: “Full Salvation and Total Healing through Christ”.
