Parliamentary proceedings on Monday, July 22, witnessed an altercation between the Speaker of Parliament and the Member of Parliament for Sefwi Wiawso, Dr Kwaku Afriyie.
The conflict arose over how Alban Bagbin handled the announcement of President Akufo-Addo’s nomination of two new judges to the Supreme Court.
After the Speaker's announcement, he added "In giving you the information, I have given you an idea of the expectations of the people of Ghana. That is for you to consider as part of the report and the House to decide as to whether we will approve or disapprove those nominations."
But this did not go down well with the NPP MP, Dr Kwaku Afriyie.
The 70-year-old legislator expressed his dissatisfaction which the Speaker deemed as disrespectful, leading to his eviction by the Marshall upon the orders of the Speaker.
