The National Deputy Communication Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Malik Basintale has been honoured by the Wa-Naa, His Royal Majesty Naa Fuseini Seidu Pelpuo IV.
Malik Basintale was conferred with the title of Yel-Naa, which means Chief of Communication.
The short ceremony took place at the palace of Wa-Naa, Naa Fuseini Seidu Pelpuo.
It came in the wake of Mr. Basintale’s public spat with Sissala East MP Amidu Chinnia Issahaku.

In his acceptance speech, the NDC National Deputy Communications Officer addressed the plea made by the Wa-Naa regarding his “brother” Amidu Chinnia Issahaku, stating, “I will plead with the Wa-Naa to just turn a blind eye to a slave and his master’s little play.”
Mr. Basintale acknowledged that he and Chinnia were “only playing with each other” and that Amidu Chinnia Issahaku had now accepted him as his “chief,” while declaring that “the play is over.”
Basintale further promised to “temper Justice with mercy,” assuring the Wa-Naa that he would not bring up his documents which he said are from “tooth to teeth” again.

Mr. Basintale recently confronted the Sissala East MP Amidu Chinnia Issahaku on live television, accusing him of being part of the brigade of state captors acquiring state properties, including land, gleefully. It follows the MP's earlier labelling of NDC flagbearer John Dramani Mahama of corruption for allegedly acquiring a state land.
The gesture from the traditional ruler appears to have prompted the NDC Deputy National Communications officer to adopt a more conciliatory approach, suggesting a potential resolution to the heated exchange.
