A 30-year-old illegal miner, identified as Kwadwo Owusu, tragically drowned in a small trench created by an excavator at Manso Adubia in the Amansie South District of the Ashanti Region.
The incident occurred on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, during a break on-site.
Colleague miners suspect that Owusu may have been intoxicated at the time of the incident, which led to his unfortunate fall into the trench and subsequent drowning.

Following the incident, the police in the Manso Adubia community were at the scene and transported the body to the mortuary for preservation.
