The Bawumia for President Campaign has announced the appointment of Deputy Minister for Lands and Natural Resources George Mireku Duker as the Campaign Coordinator for mining communities.
In a statement signed by the Vice Campaign Chairman, Fred Oware, it said Mr Duker's appointment was attributed to his extensive experience and deep understanding of the mining sector.
“I am pleased to formally inform you of your appointment as the Campaign Coordinator for all Mining Communities.
“This appointment is based on your extensive experience and deep understanding of the mining sector, coupled with your commitment to ensuring the success of our campaign,” the statement read.
The statement further outlined the Tarkwa Nsuaem Member of Parliament's responsibilities and the expectations set for him to ensure the Bawumia Campaign's success in the upcoming elections.
It stated that Mr Duker will oversee the coordination of campaign activities, organising and leading initiatives aimed at miners and mining communities across the country.
“This will involve managing teams, coordinating events and ensuring effective communication within these areas,” the statement said.
The statement noted that Mr Duker would be responsible for creating and implementing strategies to effectively communicate the NPP flagbearer, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia's policies on the mining sector to relevant stakeholders.
“This includes miners, mining companies, traditional leaders, and the wider public. The objective is to secure widespread support for the flagbearer's vision for the mining industry.”
Additionally, Mr Duker is tasked with ensuring electoral success in mining constituencies and helping secure a significant number of popular votes and parliamentary seats in constituencies with a strong mining presence.
“Ensuring that the flagbearer’s message resonates well within these communities is key to our electoral success. We trust that with your expertise and leadership, you will significantly contribute to our collective effort to win the support of mining constituencies nationwide,” the Bawumia Campaign added.
