The Mankrado of Battor in the North Tongu District of the Volta region, Togbe Borbordzi VII has urged politicians contesting in the 2024 general elections to be mindful of their campaign promises.
According to him, the various candidates should build their promises on things they can deliver if given the mandate, but not promise things that will be difficult for them to do.
"Say the truth to our people, the things that you can do and the things that you cannot do. Don't promise things that you cannot do because of the vote, but tell us the truth to maintain peace" he said.

The Chief added " We're one people, I believe that one father's children are divided into two, some in the NPP and some in the NDC so when you cause a problem and riot arises who will be affected? We're the same people.
He also praised the three decades of democracy in the country and said Ghana has done well, with a call on leaders to continue to ensure that democracy reigns.
The Chief was speaking at a press briefing to deliberate on the Akosombo and Kpong dams' spillage disaster in the district a year on.
Togbe Borbordzi also urged the youth to be law-abiding before, during, and after the election.
