Barça Legends have revealed plans to play their first match of the season in Ghana against a selection of former Ghanaian football stars.
The game which is scheduled for Sunday, November 10, 2024, at 3 PM will take place at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi.
This marks Barça’s fifth Legends match in Africa, following games in Mozambique, Morocco, Zambia, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
The Ghanaian side will feature renowned legends such as Abedi Pelé, Asamoah Gyan, and Stephen Appiah.
The initiative, started in 2016, is aimed at “bringing together former stars in a stable project that contributes to the globalisation of the Barça name around the world, thus offering a platform to foster the club’s famous values,” as stated on the club’s website.
The list of Barça Legends who will make the trip will be announced soon by head coach Albert Ferrer.
