The top marksman of the Sudanese national football team, John Manu says the team is not under pressure to get results against the Black Stars of Ghana. The players are however, prepared for Thursday’s clash.
Ghana's Black Stars would lock horns with their Sudanese counterparts in the third Group F match of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, which would be played at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Speaking at a pre-match press conference, Manu, who plays for Al-Ahli Benghazi, stated that his teammates are very calm ahead of the match and are not perturbed about the quality of their opponents.
"Sudan is not a new team in this kind of competition, having once won the AFCON. We have beaten Ghana before to qualify for the AFCON, so there is no pressure. We are very calm, and we are well prepared for this match.
"I am very happy to be in Ghana, and actually my favourite player is Asamoah Gyan, and I am honoured to play in front of his family, and I am proud to play like him.
When asked about the difference their coach, Kwesi Appiah has made to their team, Manu lauded the changes he has brought to the team considering his vast experience in the coaching field.
The highly anticipated Ghana vs. Sudan first-leg encounter at the Accra Sports Stadium will kick off at 16:00 GMT.
